Parts connect pipes, create a transition between diameters, close a free end or simplify dismantling of the assembly. In the cards you can choose the size and view the price. For assembly, it is worth preparing a diagram of all connections.
What threaded fittings are used for pipeline installation?
The type of fitting depends on the network configuration and the threads on the pipe and equipment. The parts create a direct connection, change direction or diameter, form a branch or a collapsible transition.
Couplings and nipples
A coupling has an internal thread and connects two elements with an external thread. A nipple, on the other hand, has an external thread on both sides. The straight version maintains the line diameter, while the adapter nipple combines different sizes.
The American allows you to disconnect the assembly without rotating a long section of pipe, which is convenient near a pump, filter, or shut-off valve.
Tees, angles and crosses
A tee creates a branch, an angle changes direction, and a cross distributes the flow into several lines. However, these details are not displayed in the current list on the UKSPAR page, so the possibility of ordering must be clarified.
Adapters, fittings and couplings
If a threaded adapter is required, it is selected based on the diameters on both sides and the combination of internal and external threads. In the catalog, the function of the transition is performed by an adapter nipple and a ferrule. The ferrule is screwed into a larger hole and reduces its connecting size.
The elbow is used where the pipes cannot be rotated during assembly. Together with the coupling and lock nut, it forms a detachable connection. The plugs close the unused hole, and the short thread helps to form a compact connecting section. The fitting is used to transition to a hose, but it is not among the displayed items on this page.
How to choose the right threaded fitting
First, the nominal diameter, standard and pitch of the thread are determined, as well as its type: internal or external. The designation of the same size does not guarantee compatibility if the elements are manufactured according to different standards. Next, the working pressure, temperature, medium and installation length of the part are checked.
Consider assembly sequence and tool access. Overtightening can damage threads, while undertightening can impair tightness. The sealant must be compatible with water, gas, or other media.
Materials of manufacture and compatibility with pipes
The UKSPAR website presents stainless steel fittings that have good corrosion resistance and are suitable for critical pipeline assemblies, provided they are compatible with the working environment. The specific steel grade, pressure and temperature should be checked in the product's technical documentation.
Brass is often used in domestic water supply, heating and plumbing systems. Galvanized steel is suitable for threaded steel pipelines, including water, heating and some gas systems. Stainless steel is chosen for industrial pipelines, food and chemical environments, and where increased corrosion resistance is important. When combining different metals, the risk of electrochemical corrosion is assessed and, if necessary, a compatible transition is used.
Buy threaded fittings at a bargain price
You can order stainless steel threaded fittings from UKSPAR with delivery across Ukraine. The price depends on the type of part and its size. For an accurate calculation, send a list of items or a diagram of the assembly indicating diameters, thread types, working medium, pressure and temperature.
Specialists will help you choose a coupling, nipple, futorka, American, bend, plug or locknut and check their mutual compatibility. Completing according to the scheme reduces the risk of unnecessary adapters and simplifies installation on site.
