The flanged rubber vibration insert is selected not only by diameter: the brand of elastomer determines compatibility with water, oils, temperature and external environment. Therefore, the correct choice of material directly affects the service life of the unit.
Flanged design is convenient for installation near pumps and fittings, as well as for quick dismantling during service. How to choose a vibrating insert by diameter and pressure
DN and PN are matched to the pipeline and flanges, and the working pressure is checked together with the temperature. For the correct selection, it is important to consider vacuum, pulsations, flow rate, vibration frequency, external environment and possible axial, transverse or angular displacement.
When ordering, you should specify:
- environment, concentration and temperature;
- DN, PN, standard and construction length;
- permissible movements and number of cycles;
- the presence of anchors, guide and control rods;
- installation location and protection from external damage.
The calculation must take into account the expansion force of the pressure. The flexible element does not hold the pipeline on its own, therefore reliable supports are a prerequisite for the correct operation of the unit.
Purpose: vibration damping from pumping equipment
The elastomer insert effectively dampens vibrations, reduces the transmission of structure-borne noise, and partially compensates for thermal or installation movements of the pipeline. This reduces the load on the system and extends the service life of related equipment.
The flanged anti-vibration insert is not intended to correct significant misalignment of the pipes. For correct operation, the pump is first positioned and secured, the pipeline is supported by independent supports, and the insert is mounted without forced stretching or twisting.
Rubber insert materials
EPDM is the optimal choice for water, heating and ventilation systems, provided that the temperature and composition of the medium meet the specifications.
NBR - recommended for environments with mineral oils and fuels.
To extend the life of the insert, it is worth limiting exposure to ozone, ultraviolet light, overheating, and contact with incompatible substances.
Flange connection design
The flanges transmit the force to the pipeline and compress the sealing collar of the insert. For a reliable connection, the surfaces must be clean, parallel and without sharp edges. The bolts are tightened evenly in a crisscross pattern according to the instructions. This prevents damage to the rubber from both excessive and insufficient force.
Control rods are used when required by the design and manufacturer's recommendations: they limit excessive stretching and absorb part of the loads.
Areas of application of flanged vibrators
Flanged vibration inserts are successfully used in pumping stations, water supply systems, heating, HVAC, water treatment and industrial circuits. They are installed on suction and pressure lines in accordance with the passport conditions, with access for inspection.
During operation, we recommend monitoring for cracks, swelling, exposed cord, leakage and excessive deformation. Timely replacement of the unit after eliminating the cause of the damage prevents unscheduled equipment downtime.
