Fire extinguishing fittings

The effectiveness of automatic and internal fire extinguishing systems directly depends on the coordinated operation of all components. The main element for controlling the flow of extinguishing agents is the shut-off and regulating valves.

    It provides stable water cut-off or supply under an operating pressure of 1.6–2.5 MPa, which meets the design parameters of most modern internal and external fire-fighting networks.
    UKSPAR offers certified fittings that meet the strictest industry safety standards.

    Classification of fittings in fire extinguishing systems

    The equipment is installed on ring networks, civil defense facilities (bomb shelters), industrial enterprises and in housing. By functional purpose, it is divided into:

    • Locking: Gate valves (wedge, gate), disc valves and ball valves. Designed to completely block or open the flow.
    • Protective: Check valves. Prevent reverse movement of the medium and a drop in static pressure in the system.
    • Shaped elements: Tees, elbows, transitions and flange adapters used to branch and change the configuration of mains.

    Technical feature: The products are designed for long-term operation in standby mode without loss of tightness. Housings made of ductile iron (GJS400/500) or carbon steel with epoxy anti-corrosion coating provide a service life of up to 20–25 years if maintenance regulations are followed.

    Purpose and performance characteristics

    Shut-off devices are integrated into control units, pumping stations and bypass lines of water metering units. Basic operating requirements:

    • Working environment: Technical water with a temperature of up to +50 °C.
    • Tightness: According to DSTU EN 12266-1, for fire systems it is mandatory class A (complete absence of leaks at test pressure).
    • Mechanical efforts: The torque on the drive must not exceed 250 Nm for tubeless modifications and 300 Nm for chamber music.

    Regulatory requirements and safety

    All products must be accompanied by certificates of conformity to DSTU and international standards. Certification confirms successful completion of hydraulic tests for strength and tightness. Fittings from UKSPAR Comes with a full package of regulatory documentation and manufacturer's warranty.

    Service regulations

    To prevent spindle jamming and seal degradation, it is necessary to:

    1. Control inspection: At least once every 6 months.
    2. Technical inspection: Check for corrosion and mechanical damage to the housing.
    3. Prevention: Periodic scrolling (open-close cycle) and lubrication of moving parts.

    Importantly: When the valve is closed abruptly, there is a risk of water hammer (a short-term increase in pressure on the 30–50%). To protect the equipment, it is recommended to use check valves with damping devices.

    Equipment selection criteria

    When selecting fittings, it is necessary to rely on design calculations of water flow. Error in choosing the nominal diameter (DN) or pressure class (PN) leads to an increase in hydraulic resistance and overload of pumping equipment.Key selection parameters:

    • Connection type (flange, coupling, welded);
    • Nominal pressure and flow capacity;
    • Compliance with temperature conditions and tightness class.
