Wafer gate valves

    The range includes unidirectional Fig. Z202 and bidirectional Fig. Z203, as well as versions with 380 V electric drive and pneumatic drive. Depending on the model, diameters DN50–DN1000 are available. Operating parameters - up to 1.0 MPa (PN10) and +80 °C.

    How to choose an interflange gate valve

    When choosing, consider:

    • diameter;
    • pressure;
    • temperature;
    • composition of the environment.

    For wastewater, pulp, and liquids with solid inclusions, particle size, concentration, and abrasiveness are important.
    A one-way gate valve is mounted taking into account the direction of the pressure drop. A two-way gate valve provides tightness on both sides and is suitable for areas where the direction of pressure changes.
    The handwheel is suitable for manual closing. The electric actuator is used for remote control, and the pneumatic actuator is used for fast and frequent cycles in the presence of compressed air. The actuator is selected according to the required force and frequency of operation.
    For an automated system, the supply voltage, control algorithm, response time, and the need for position signaling are additionally determined. For a pneumatic version, the pressure and quality of compressed air are taken into account.

    Design and operating principle

    The gate valve consists of a body, a gate valve, a spindle, a seal and a control mechanism. A handwheel or actuator moves the plate perpendicular to the flow. In the open position, the knife leaves the passage, and in the closed position, it is lowered into the seat.
    The edge of the gate passes through sediment, fibrous inclusions or thick pulp. This knife gate valve is designed primarily for full opening or closing. The ability to regulate the flow is checked according to the model documentation.

    Knife, seal and overlapping mechanism

    In models Fig. Z202 and Z203, the blade and shaft are made of stainless steel EN 1.4301 (AISI 304). The material ensures corrosion resistance of the moving parts.
    The NBR seal forms a tight seal around the plate. The models are declared to have a tightness class of A. The compatibility of the NBR with the medium must be checked before ordering.

    Manufacturing materials and types of execution

    The housing of Fig. Z202 and Z203 is made of high-strength cast iron EN-GJS-400-15, and the blade and spindle are made of stainless steel. The suitability for abrasive media is determined by the flow rate, particle concentration and number of cycles.
    Unidirectional design is chosen for constant pressure direction, bidirectional - if tightness is required on both sides. Manual and automated modifications are available.

    Advantages of interflange design

    Interflange mounting reduces the overall length of the assembly and requires less space than a design with its own massive flanges. The lower weight simplifies installation and replacement of equipment.
    The gate valve is centered between the flanges relative to the pipe axis. Their standard, diameter, class and space for the gate valve stroke are checked. The body should not compensate for pipeline misalignments.

    Where are gate valves used?

    Gate valves are used in sewage systems, at treatment and pumping stations, and industrial pipelines - for wastewater, process water, air, and bulk materials.
    Knife gate valves are used in the pulp and paper, mining, food and chemical industries for pulp, suspensions and fibrous masses. For aggressive or abrasive environments, materials are coordinated separately.
    The gate valve design is not universal for any fluid. If the medium contains aggressive reagents, large solid particles or operates at temperatures above the nominal value, a special design of the valve is required.
