    Flanged check valves range

    The designs differ in the principle of closing the shut-off element and their applicability to a specific pipeline position.

    How to choose a flanged check valve

    Proper selection of protective fittings ensures that the pipeline will operate without failures for many years.
    First of all, they are guided by the nominal diameter of the pipeline. It must exactly match the cross-section of the pipe so as not to create unnecessary hydraulic resistance.
    The second criterion is operating pressure. If water hammer is possible in the system, an increased safety margin is installed.
    The third factor is the chemical composition of the liquid. For drinking water, environmentally safe materials are required, for aggressive wastewater or chemicals, resistant alloys are required.
    The temperature of the environment is also taken into account, as the choice of seal and housing material depends on it.

    Construction types

    The internal architecture of the shut-off unit determines the speed of the device's response and the features of its installation on the main:

    • A rotary disk is a simple and reliable mechanism that operates under the influence of flow.
    • Lift valve – provides precise shut-off and high tightness.
    • Disc type – used for large diameters and high pressure.

    Each version has its own characteristics and is selected according to the operating mode of the pipeline.

    Manufacturing materials

    The bodies of all presented models are made of cast iron of various grades:

    • GG25 – for standard application poppet and rotary valves;
    • GGG40 and GGG50 are stronger malleable irons for lift valves and counterweight models where additional mechanical stress is applied to the part.

    The closing elements are made of steel (ball) or the same cast iron as the body (plate, disc). The seals are EPDM for water and non-aggressive media, and NBR for media with lubricants or petroleum products.

    How is it different from the interflange type?

    The main difference between the two types of valves is the body design and installation specifications. The flanged valve has its own mounting discs that are connected to the pipe flanges through individual gaskets and tightened with bolts. This makes the assembly as reliable as possible on large diameters.
    The interflange analogue is devoid of its own fastening discs and is simply clamped with studs between two pipes. It is more compact and lighter, but the flange type wins in terms of ease of maintenance. It is easier to dismantle from the main for scheduled gasket replacement or cleaning.
