UKSPAR disc valve: an effective solution for industrial and municipal systems
Butterfly valves (rotary valves) are modern shut-off and control devices used to shut off or regulate flow in pipelines. UKSPAR brand products, presented on the UKSPAR website, combine reliable design, high tightness and ease of operation.
The butterfly valve is used in systems with working media: water, air, slightly aggressive media, gas, and petroleum products.
Purpose and application of rotary disc dampers
The rotary disc valve performs the function of closing, opening and regulating the flow of the medium in the pipeline.
Areas of application:
- water and sewage networks;
- heating and ventilation systems;
- chemical and food industry;
- energy and agro-industrial enterprises;
- industrial pumping units;
- utility companies.
- oil and gas companies
Due to its ease of installation, the interflange disc gate valve is actively used for the modernization of old and construction of new pipeline networks, as it is installed without the need to change the length of the pipeline, is compatible with standard flanges, and does not require complex tools for maintenance.
The principle of operation of a butterfly valve
A rotary valve consists of a body, a disc, a shaft, a seal, and sealing elements.
- in the open state - parallel to the flow, passes liquid or air;
- in closed position - blocks the flow, creating a hermetic seal.
Workflow:
- The operator turns the handle or activates the electric or pneumatic actuator, depending on the technical solution.
- The disc blocks or opens the flow in the pipeline by 90°.
Due to the minimal number of moving parts, such a mechanism is reliable, wear-resistant and does not require complex maintenance.
Types of disc valve connections
The Uxpar website presents interflange disc valves, installed between two pipeline flanges. This is the most common type of installation due to the following advantages:
- does not require a large installation length;
- convenient for replacement without dismantling the entire assembly;
- suitable for DN from 40 to 600 mm (according to the size table on the Uxpar website).
In addition to interflange models, the UKSPAR range also includes:
- Welded disc valves — are mounted by welding, which guarantees tightness even in systems with high pressure or vibration. They are used in technological lines where maximum connection reliability is important.
- Flanged valves — equipped with their own flanges for connection to other system components. This is the optimal solution for large diameter pipelines or for facilities with regular maintenance.
There are also versions with a worm gear for easier control of large diameters or in places with difficult access.
UKSPAR disc gate materials: exact match to the environment
The UKSPAR line includes disc valves with a wide variety of body, disc, and seal materials, which allows you to choose a solution for any environment: drinking water, technical fluids, gas, petroleum products, air, and mildly aggressive environments.
Types of cases:
- Ductile iron GGG40 / GGG50 is a classic choice for water, heating, air (Fig. P201, P202, P203, P204, P226, P101);
- Stainless steel - for chemical and food environments where complete corrosion resistance is required (Fig. P203, P221);
- Bronze C95400 - increased resistance to salts. Used for seawater desalination systems (Fig. P228);
Types of discs:
- Cast iron GGG40 / GGG50 - base disc with protective coating (Fig. P201);
- Stainless steel AISI 304 / 316 - resistant to corrosion, high temperatures, acids and alkalis (Fig. P202, P203, P204, P221);
- PTFE (Teflon) coated steel — chemical inertness and smoothness (Fig. P221, P226);
- Bronze C95400 — for seawater desalination (Fig. P228).
Types of seals:
- EPDM - universal for drinking water, air, sewage networks (Fig. P201, P202, P228, P101);
- NBR — resistance to oils, fuels and lubricants, moderately aggressive environments (Fig. P204);
- PTFE (Teflon) — the highest resistance to chemicals and temperatures (fig. P203, P221, P226).
Structural types of UKSPAR valves
The product range covers all main types of shut-off valves by installation method.
Interflange butterfly valves
The most compact, installed between the pipeline flanges (in the open position). Suitable for installation in limited space.
Fig.: P201, P202, P203, P204, P221, P226, P228.
Flanged valves with eccentric
They provide tightness in pipeline systems, and also have the ability to replace seals on the disk.
Fig.: P101, P101-I (with electric drive).
Welded valves with eccentric
Designed for main pipelines where a fixed connection without a removable flange is required.

Operating parameters of UKSPAR valves
Working pressure:
- PN10: models: (Fig. P101, P101-I, P221).
- PN16: (Fig. P201, P202, P203, P204, P226, P228).
Temperature:
- EPDM: up to +120 °C - suitable for hot water, heating systems, drinking water supply;
- NBR: up to +80 °C - the optimal solution for gas, oil, technical fluids, lubricants, diesel fuel and oils.
- PTFE: up to +150 °C — used in the chemical industry, for slightly aggressive liquids.
Diameters and size range of UKSPAR disc valves
The UKSPAR range covers a wide range of diameters, from small domestic to large industrial DN1200. This allows the use of disc valves in facilities of various scales and types.
DN range:
- Flanged models: DN40–DN1200.
- Flanged with eccentric: DN350–DN1800.
- Welded models: DN80–DN600.
Each item indicates the exact dimensions, installation length, seal type and pressure. You can find the size chart and drawing on the product page on the website.
