The best check valves from UKSPAR
A check valve is used to control the flow of a fluid in a pipe. The valve allows water (or other fluid) to flow in the desired direction and prevents it from flowing back.The water check valve is widely used in water supply, heating and pumping systems, where it is necessary to exclude the reverse flow of the working medium. Correct selection of the valve allows to increase the efficiency and safety of the entire system.
Check valves are often installed in the following locations:
- sewerage;
- plumbing;
- gas pipeline;
- heat network;
- oil pipeline;
- wells;
- pumps
Reliability, durability, and ease of operation are the main advantages of a backpressure valve.
How the non-return valve works
Check valves operate under the pressure of the moving flow. When the working medium flows in the desired direction, the pressure increases and the valve opens. If the working medium stops flowing, or begins to move in the opposite direction, the through hole is automatically closed by means of a shutter. The non-return valve for water (and other working media) performs a number of functions:
- stabilizes the pressure in the working system;
- minimizes the risk of leaks and hydraulic shocks;
- does not allow the flow to change course, which can lead to violation of the rules of operation of the equipment and even breakdown.
A high-pressure check valve prevents the flow of the working fluid from flowing back in the event of a blockage or malfunction in the pipeline (for example, a clogged sewer). It operates automatically, without human intervention, and can last for decades if operating standards are met.
A check valve is an essential element of a modern piping system, as it prevents backflow, protects pumping equipment, and stabilizes pressure in the system.
What is a non-return valve for water
You can buy a check valve of different types - with different types of connection, body material and type of working substance.
Construction type
By design type, check valves are: spring (disc), rotary, ball and lift. The choice of design depends on the pressure, pipeline diameter and characteristics of the working medium.
Connection type
- Flanged Mounted on the pipe through a flange with a seal. It has high strength, is suitable for large pipelines and wells, is more often used in industry.
- Inter-flange Mounted on the pipe between its flanges. Easy to install and remove, takes up little space, suitable for pipeline systems of small diameter.
- Coupling (threaded). Mounted on the pipe using a thread (coupling). Compact and neat, usually used in the household.
Body material
- Malleable cast iron. Among the advantages are heat resistance, ease of repair, low price. Among the disadvantages is the risk of rust, heavy weight.
- Brass. Among the advantages are a stainless surface, a long service life, and low cost. Among the minuses is a small variability of sizes (on average - DU up to 10 cm) and operating temperatures (on average - up to 150-180 °C).
- Steel. Among the advantages is resistance to different temperature regimes, high loads and pressure drops. Among the disadvantages is the risk of rust.
- Stainless Steel. Among the advantages are the variability of application, the best indicators of strength and durability. Among the disadvantages is the high price.
Working substances
Check valves can be used with different types of media depending on the material and design.
Among the most common:
- water;
- air;
- gas;
- sewage effluents;
- petroleum products;
- steam;
- mildly aggressive environments;
- sewage.
How to choose a check valve
When choosing a check valve, it is important to consider the type of working medium, system pressure, pipeline diameter and operating conditions. Brass and stainless steel models are more often used for water, and steel valves are used for industrial tasks.
The best water check valves in the UKSPAR brand catalogue
The Ukrainian manufacturer UKSPAR offers not only to buy non-return valves of various types, sizes and materials, but also safety valve.
The company's catalog presents high-quality fittings that have certificates of conformity and a guarantee. The price of the non-return valve is lower than that of other brands, and delivery is possible anywhere in Ukraine.In complex piping systems, check valves are often used in conjunction with gate valves and other shut-off valves.
